What role do you play in lead?

I am a LEAD Director, working specifically with our volunteers from different youth organisations, helping more people have incredible opportunities through the courses we run!

Who is your favourite leader?

Martin Luther King Jr has always been an inspiration for me in leadership, for the way he stood strongly for his values and sacrificially fought for lasting change on behalf of many people.

Where are you leading?

​​Having previously worked full-time in the outdoor education industry/field, I have enjoyed leading in a variety of different contexts. Today, I have a leadership role as a local youth worker at Central Church in Edinburgh, where I lead a volunteer team, passionate about supporting young people between the ages of 11-18. 

Why are you excited about working with LEAD?

I started helping with LEAD as a volunteer in 2021 and was able to see firsthand the powerful impact the courses have on young people. The vision to raise up and release leadership in young people across the nation is one that I share deeply, and believe is paramount in bringing the flourishing of our world in the future. 

What is your advice to a young leader?

For a younger leader, I'd encourage confidence and humility, to love others as you love yourself and to stay disciplined to prioritise the things that matter most.
