KIRSTEN HUFFTY
What role do you play in lead?
My role with LEAD is on the board of trustees. I enjoy working with the LEAD staff as they develop curriculum and engage the community in the impactful things that LEAD is doing in schools.
Who is your favourite leader?
My favourite leaders are people that no one else knows about. People who labour and lead faithfully in their corner of the world, never seeking a wide platform or a big name. Those persistent, patient, passionate leaders shake the world in gentle, lasting ways.
Where are you leading?
I am currently leading with Young Life International. My husband and I direct and develop this ministry to high school and university students across Scotland.
Why are you excited about working with LEAD?
I’m excited about the opportunities to bring LEAD to more schools and to influence more young people across Scotland and across the UK.
What is your advice to a young leader?
My advice to a young leader would be to be a lifelong learner. You don’t have to be in a classroom to learn. The world is full of great learning opportunities (both positive and negative!). So travel thoughtfully, ask questions, read widely, and learn to hear what’s not being said… and you’ll become a brilliant leader.
